RESIDENTS VOICE FEARS AS VICTIM SUFFERS BACK WOUND
RESIDENTS have voiced their concerns after a man was stabbed in the back in Forest Fields over the weekend.
Nottinghamshire Police cordoned off an area of Berridge Road shortly after 6pm on Sunday.
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with a single stab wound to his back. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
People say the incident happened between the Russell Road and Radford Road junctions and that a cordon was established in Berridge Road on Sunday evening.
The cordon has since been removed.
Anthony Peel, 36, who has lived in the area for two years, told the Post: “It is not the nicest thing to happen, but it is not a great area.
“It is happening more and more here. I have three kids who go to [Scotholme Primary School]. It’s not

good for them to see.
“I just came past on Sunday and saw the police. It was taped off for half a day.”
Anna Constanti, 40, who has been running Sia’s Forest Fields OffLicence in Berridge Road for the past five years, said: “It is scary because they are dangerous people.
“But I’ve never had any problems. I like this area. I’ve worked in this shop for five years and I’ve never had an issue.”
Another resident of 15 years, Ruth Shelton, added: “This is a good area to live in and I’m happy to live here.
“These things happen in all areas. I do feel for the people who are involved. But I think it has always been good here and I do not want to live anywhere else.”
Nottinghamshire Police says no arrests have yet been made and investigation work is continuing.
Detective Constable Parminder Ahluwalia, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are working to establish what happened and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or saw a man running away in the area shortly afterwards.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 521 of November 15.”
