A FABULOUS honeymoon, help with his wedding and a much-needed op for his new rescue dog were all top of Sam Mccloskey’s wish list when he scooped £30,000 on People’s Postcode Lottery.

The 31-year-old health and safety worker from haywards heath was one of five lucky winners from his road who shared the good fortune earlier And sam couldn't

have been more thrilled: “This is amazing,” he said. “Superb! I never thought I’d be in this position – this money will go a long, long way.”

His thoughts turning to his fiancée of two years, Kirsty he smiled, This will blow her socks oft. We'll

have a bottle of bubbly when I get home. It’s surreal.”

Sam found out about his big win via a video call at work and said it couldn’t have come at a better time.

He and Kirsty had been due to get married in July this year but had been forced to postpone the wedding because of Covid restrictions.

“It’s all planned but there are still some things we need to sort out, so the money will be very beneficial for that,” he revealed. “It will also go towards a honeymoon when we can have one. I've always wanted to go St Lucia, but Kirsty wants to do South America. We'll have to see who wins that argument probably her! “We’ve been together for 13 years, so it's been awful timing with everything happening, but I'm just over the moon with this. Sam said with everyone needing a helping hand right now almost a third of ticket sales from People’s Postcode Lottery goes to good causes, and he added: “We recently got a new dog from a charity. He’s full of energy but needs surgery, so the winnings will help with that.”
