Reds will face fans on away days
BUT FOREST AND NOTTS SUPPORTERS MUST WAIT FOR RETURN TO GROUNDS
NOTTINGHAM Forest might not be able to play in front of fans at the City Ground, but three of their upcoming opponents can welcome supporters.
Forest will go to Reading, Norwich and Millwall before Christmas with those clubs able to welcome 2,000 fans after those areas were placed in tier two by the Government yesterday.
The Reds go to Reading on December 5, three days after lockdown ends, with the trip to Carrow Road taking place on December 9. Their other away game before Christmas is at Millwall on December 19, with London in tier two.
Forest and Notts County fans will have to wait to be able to see their teams in action following the latest announcement.
It was yesterday revealed that both Nottingham City Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council areas will revert to tier three status - meaning supporters will not be allowed back into Meadow Lane or the City
Ground when lockdown ends.
Stadiums in Tier One areas will be able to host up to 4,000 fans or 50 percent of the stadiums’ capacity – whichever number is lower.
In Tier Two, the cap is set at 2,000 fans or 50 percent of the stadiums’ capacity – but stadiums in Tier Three will have to continue holding fixtures behind closed doors.
Fans have been having their say about the news on Twitter, with their team 20th in the Championship after losing seven of their 13 games. Dave Holmes: Not a massive shock really... Might be a blessing in disguise on current form.
Paul Martin: Probably for the best because #nffc aren’t exhibiting any sign of turning up at the moment anyway
John Patching: Phew. Tier Three so an excuse not to go.
Stuart Whomsley: Probably a good thing under the circumstances...on the pitch.
Alan Fisher: Lucky escape on current performances.
Neal Sheppeson: Lucky escape for us Forest fans...
