Stars lined up for vegan camp
THE organiser of the biggest outdoor vegan festival in the UK is aiming to stage the event late this year after last year’s show was cancelled.
The Vegan Camp Out 2021 aims to make up for last year’s postponed event, with celebrities such as Russell Brand and Chris Packham speaking about their plant-based diets.
Since 2018 the event has taken place at Newark Showground. This year, the festival is planned to begin on August 20 and end on August 22 two provide vegans with a weekend of live music, talks, and, of course, food.
Assurances have also been given that tickets will carry over to a later date if the festival is postponed due to coronavirus restrictions.
Visitors can pitch up tents or caravans to stay overnight at the event. Organisers say they expect to sell more than 10,000 tickets.
Jordan Martin, founder and director of Vegan Camp Out, said: “Tickets for this year’s event went on sale in November and we’ve sold more than we ever have in the past. We sold over 7,000 tickets in 2019 and this year we are on track to sell 10,000.
“Even if the event has to be postponed, any tickets sold will be safe for the rescheduled date.
“Russell Brand will be there and so will Chris Packham. They are both well-known in the vegan world and for the last two or three years, Russell has been one of our most requested guests.
“There will be a music stage where acts such as Benjamin Zephaniah and The Revolutionary Minds and grime artist P Money will be headlining on separate days to provide entertainment.
“We will have lots of vegan food cooks there as well throughout the weekend making lots of different cuisines.”
Tickets for the weekend will be priced at £60 for adults, £30 for those aged 4 to 15, and car parking tickets can also be purchased at www. vegancampout.co.uk.
