FOOD lovers who are missing the restaurant experience can now enjoy a luxurious three-course dinner at home from a Nottingham Michelin-starred chef.

There won’t be the waiters or sommelier on hand to top up the wines glasses, but there will be delicious food on the table.

With special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries having to be celebrated at home, Alex Bond has launched Alchemilla at Home.

Instead of a tasting menu, as served by the restaurant in Derby Road, the chef patron has designed a three-course menu, with alternative dishes for vegetarians.

Last year, the Alchemilla kitchen cooked a total of 9,000 meals in 12 weeks for the NHS and vulnerable people, before going on to create burger and wings boxes for the public.

The new venture, costing £45 a head, takes it up a notch. The menu will change every few weeks. Online ordering launched this week, ready for collection next weekend.

Alex said: “Simple DIY instructions will have you cooking a Michelin restaurant-quality threecourse meal in the comfort of your own home.”

Foodies can savour caramelised onion and thyme brioche and whipped cep butter with a starter of salt-baked celeriac and black garlic, followed by a main course of confit duck leg with duck fat potato terrine and creamed bacon.

Rounding it off is a dessert of hot chocolate fondant with candied clementine and proper custard.

As an extra indulgence, customers can add on “very special” cheese – a 250g Baron Bigod stuffed Perigord Truffle for a further £22.

All the hard work is done by the chefs so all you have to do is follow the instructions to cook and plate up.
