Parts of the county now have infection rates below national average

AREAS of Nottingham­shire with the lowest active Covid-19 rates have been revealed.

Figures compiled by Public Health England, break down the county into individual neighbourh­oods to show the rates of infection in neighbourh­oods across the area.

These areas, known as Middle Super Output Areas (MSOAS), are areas with population­s of around 8,000 people used for census data.

Across the county, there are 19 areas with rates of infection below 200 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending January 18 - the current England average rate of 453.6.

Six of the areas with the lowest rate are in Bassetlaw, with Retford North recording the lowest rate of 109.9. Four areas with low rates were in the Rushcliffe borough, with a further five in Newark and Sherwood, two in Nottingham and two in Gedling.

Mansfield, Ashfield and Broxtowe currently have no areas with rates lower than 200 cases per 100,000 people.

Below are the 19 areas with name of MSOA (and local authority in brackets), rate per 100,000 people in the week ending January 18, and the number of new cases recorded in this window (in brackets).
