A NOTTINGHAM street food business is making its award-winning burgers available for customers to order and make in their own homes.

Porco - a street food business that traded at a stall in Lady Bay before Christmas - was awarded the title of Best Burger at the British Street Food Awards 2020 for its Pigmac burger.

Jez Poyser, who runs the business, butchers a shoulder of pork into the mouth-watering burger patties which are now being sold as part of a “Porco@home” box that also includes home-cured bacon.

The pork patties come in a pack of eight, making four double Pigmacs which can be delivered to the doorstep with instructions on how to cook them.

Jez, who established the business eight years ago, said: “The box comes with eight burgers which I butcher and grind myself. Each Pigmac is two patties.

“The kit also comes with four rashers of home-cured bacon and four semi-brioche buns from Tough Mary’s Bakehouse on Derby Road.

“They also come with eight slices of cheese, our house pickle, cucumber and shredded iceberg lettuce. We make our own sauce which we’ve added to the box.

“I’ve been doing a different box every week and with the Pigmac, we want people to send us a picture on Instagram of their attempt to make the burger. The winner will get a free box of their choice.

“I think people will like them so we’ll keep them on sale next week too. Last week we did a Korean sharing box which had pulled pork and we’ve done pork ribs in the past too.”

The Porco@home box including the Pigmac will be on sale until the end of February 7 at the earliest.

Deliveries for this week will be made on Saturday, January 30 between 4 and 6:30pm.

Porco also sells cheesecakes which can ordered online from its Instagram too.

Jez began his business nearly a decade ago by selling porchetta in at a stall in Old Market Square. He added he is keen to organise more pop-ups when he can once Covid restrictions are relaxed.
