WEST Bromwich Albion manager Sam Allardyce says Kamil Grosicki has turned down a move to Nottingham Forest.

The Poland winger came within seconds of joining Forest at the end of the last transfer window, only for the deal to collapse.

Now Allardyce says Forest returned with a renewed approach for the 32-year-old but he was not interested in moving to the City Ground, even though he’s free to leave the Premier League side.

“He could have gone to Nottingham Forest but he refused,” said Allardyce.

“He has already been told if the right opportunity comes up for him he can leave because that obviously puts more funds in the pot to bring more players in before the deadline.”

Allardyce’s comments should end any chance of a move to Nottingham for the former Hull City man.

Despite being told he could go, Grosicki started Premier League games against Wolves and West Ham United recently, although he was not involved against Manchester City in the Baggies’ game on Tuesday night.

Forest remain keen to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes on Monday

night.

One player recently on the Baggies’ books did join Forest this week, though, as Filip Krovinovic returned to Benfica from Albion before joining the Reds on loan.

And Forest manager Chris Hughton is likely looking to further strengthen his midfield options before the February 1 deadline, with Bournemouth’s Dan Gosling the latest player linked with a move to the City Ground.
