TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON

ROSCOE’S LIVING THE HIGH LIFE... BUT THE RISE OF AIDS IS SET TO SHATTER HIS CIRCLE’S HAPPINESS

-

ALREADY one of Channel 4’s most binged boxsets, this vibrant, emotional drama from Russell T Davies has had the nation talking. If you’re sticking to a weekly watch, brace yourself for this hard-hitting episode which sees a terrifying turning point for the Pink Palace flatmates.

It’s now March 1986. A brilliant soundtrack includes everything from Wham! to Erasure, with Diana Ross number one in the charts.

The five friends are having fun and enjoying life, but the shadow of the AIDS crisis is looming closer to them.

Ritchie, played by a captivating Olly Alexander, is flitting from audition to audition hoping to finally get his big break. He keeps bumping into someone called Donald at every audition and eventually they make eyes at each other and have a drink.

Jill (the superb Lydia West) has been cast in the chorus of a successful musical, but is also living a separate life working on an AIDS phone line to offer advice and help.

The character has spawned the Twitter hashtag #Bemorejill.

Meanwhile, Roscoe (Omari Douglas) wakes up in extraordinary surroundings and intends to hang on to this new lifestyle for as long as possible.

And Colin (Callum Scott Howells), having been unceremoniously sacked from his job for being gay, is thrilled to get a promotion at the photocopy shop.

But the terror that has been circling closer and closer suddenly strikes at the heart of the gang in an unexpected way.
