AN inquest has opened into the death of a prisoner at HMP Nottingham.
Assistant Coroner for Nottinghamshire Gordon Clow said Adrian Hall, 35, died on December 29, 2020.
He said: “He died at HMP Nottingham, Sherwood.
“He was identified by the custody manager at HMP Nottingham.
“The identity was confirmed to East Midlands Ambulance
Service.”
Mr Clow added a post mortem examination had been carried out but the cause of death remains as “unascertained pending further tests”.
The coroner formally opened the inquest and said the next hearing date would be fixed in due course.
He added: “It only remains for me to express my condolences to the family and friends of Adrian Hall.”
A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with arson following a flat fire in St Ann’s.
Nottinghamshire Police were called to the flat in Comyn Gardens at around 11am on Friday after a report that people were trapped inside.
Thomas Bailey, of Comyn Gardens, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on March 8.
Detective Sergeant Nick Wood, who is leading the investigation, said: “Following a full investigation a man has now been charged following the incident.
“This must have been incredibly frightening for those at the flat to discover their home alight after the alarm had gone off.
“It is incredibly lucky no one was harmed.”
