Update for under-50s on jab dates

-

A CORONAVIRUS vaccine calculator has been updated to show when people under the age of 50 could get the jab.

Recent figures for Monday, February 22, show that across the UK 17.9m people have received their first jab, while 642,788 have received their second dose of the vaccine. The government says every adult should have their first dose by July 31 under the Prime Minister’s accelerated plan.

You can see when you will likely receive the vaccine using the calculator, which has been updated since Boris Johnson’s announcement.

This calculator estimates where you are in the queue to receive a Covid vaccine and can be found at nottinghampost.com/news/health/.

It is based on the proportion of people vaccinated since December 8 against the nine-point priority list released by the UK government. The last on the list is the under 50s.

For example, the calculator predicts an under 50-year-old who is not a care home or hospital worker, and is not clinically vulnerable or has underlying health issues, should expect to get their first dose of the jab between April 4 and May 31. They should receive their second dose from June 5 to August 23.

Health services are delivering the vaccine in hospital hubs and local vaccination services across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. There is also a larger scale vaccination centre in Mansfield.

The hospital hubs are: Queen’s Medical Centre, City Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital. The local vaccination services include: Ashfield Health Village; Cripps Health Centre, Nottingham; Forest Recreation Ground, Nottingham; Gamston Community Centre; King’s Meadow Campus, Nottingham; Newark Showground; Richard Herrod Centre, Carlton.
