A “VIOLENT” Nottinghamshire man has been accused of beating, sexually assaulting and raping a woman, a court has heard.

Bradley Dawes admitted to assaulting his victim on two separate occasions, leaving her with a broken nose, cuts to her knuckles and a graze on her finger.

It is also alleged that he sexually assaulted and raped her, which he denies.

Dawes, appearing for trial at Nottingham Crown Court, is charged with two counts of actual bodily harm, one count of sexual assault and one count of rape.

He has pleaded guilty to both counts of actual bodily harm. However, he denies the charges of sexual assault and rape.

The court was told how the victim was beaten at a service station forecourt on December 21, 2018.

She managed to flee into the garage before she was taken to a friend’s house, the court heard.

Then, on January 1, 2019, a second alleged assault took place. Prosecutor Stuart Lody described how Dawes turned violent against his victim.

“He flew into a rage before giving her a good beating,” Mr Lody told the court.

“She suffered a broken nose, chipped her tooth, blacked her eyes and he inflicted other injuries upon her.”

The court was shown a series of selfies taken by the victim showing bruising on both eyes and cheeks, cuts to her knuckles and a graze to her index finger.

Further pictures taken by police on January 2, 2019, showed bruises to the victim’s side, a bruise on her eyes and her broken nose.

Continuing the prosecution’s case, Mr Lody told the court that the New Year’s Day attack “wasn’t enough for him”.

The jury heard how Dawes allegedly conducted a series of sexual attacks on his victim in the minutes following the beating. It is then alleged that Dawes sexually assaulted and raped her, the jury was told.

He added: “The victim felt dizzy, saw stars and fell unconscious. The following morning, the victim had access to her phone and eventually, the police were called,” said Mr Lody.

He was arrested and both Dawes and the victim were questioned as part of police investigations, leading to his trial in court. Dawes, 26, of Mayfield Street in Kirkby-in-ashfield, denies the charges of sexual assault and rape.

The trial continues.

He flew into a rage before giving her a good beating.
