US hits back at N Korea

-

AMERICA’S senior diplomat has criticised North Korea’s human rights record and reiterated a vow to strip the country of its nuclear programme, a day after Pyongyang warned Washington to “refrain from causing a stink” amid deadlocked nuclear talks.

US secretary of state Antony Blinken made his comments in South Korea as part of a regional tour aimed at boosting America’s Asian alliances to better deal with growing challenges from China and North Korea.

THE sad news of Sarah Everard is sparking so much reaction.

Calls for more lighting and more cameras; the use of key words to let people know you’re scared.

How sad that people can’t go out enjoy themselves and stay out late if they want to without worrying if they are safe.

Over the years there’s been so many murders, assaults, fights that I imagine lots of woman and men have stories to tell.

Out for a good time not knowing or believing this could be a bad time.

Some years ago in Market Square, near a bus stop waiting for my sisters, a young lad was stood at the side of me. Two youths appeared and one of them punched him in the nose which started to bleed.

I stood In front of him and said, ‘Stop it now! This is ridiculous,

Why did you do that?’ (Because I felt like it)

I walked the lad and a couple of other boys to another stop. Why did I feel so protective? Because I spoke to him before this happened.

‘Are you going anywhere nice?’ He replied, ‘church.’

My sister told me he could have hit you but that wasn’t in my mind whilst protecting him.

Incidentally. my nephew was asked for a cigarette in Hockley. When he replied, ‘sorry I don’t smoke’ he got a smack in the face.

Men, women, children, nobody’s safe .

Always keep with the motto the whole world is using - STAY SAFE. Sarah Everard is a wake up call. How sad her wonderful life has tragically been taken from her.
