New Mcdonald’s drive-thru opens

-

MCDONALD’S new restaurant in Mansfield open its doors for the first time yesterday.

The burger chain’s new site, in Oakleaf Close, is open from 11am on a takeaway and drive-thru basis.

The new outlet has been in the pipeline for almost two years, with planning consent eventually granted in December 2019.

It will bring 84 full and part-time jobs to the town.

Jacqui Moore, who runs the franchise, said: “My team and I are excited to be safely opening a brand-new Mcdonald’s restaurant in Mansfield.

“We’re looking forward to seeing our customers enjoy our services on offer, including takeaway and drive-thru. “We’d also like to thank our customers in advance for their support and patience as we navigate and adapt to new, evolving restrictions and different ways of working.”

Ms Moore’s franchise also owns the West Gate Mcdonald’s in Mansfield town centre.

The restaurant features two electric charging points for customers, and once dine-in options resume, customers will be able to access table service and either order on their phone, at the counter or at one of the screens.

Construction has also begun on a new retail park across the road from the Mcdonald’s.

The retail park, at Ransom Wood, will have a Costa Coffee drive-thru and Nottinghamshire’s first Greggs drive-thru, as well as other business space.

It comes on top of separate food and drink developments in the town which could see two Taco Bell restaurants, a Domino’s Pizza outlet and Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons all set up in the town.

One of the Taco Bell restaurants would be a drive-thru site based next to the KFC in Forest Town.

The other has already been confirmed for the new Stockwell Gateway development, at the old bus station, alongside the Domino’s and Tim Hortons.
