Enjoy a more relaxed break at Center Parcs

EXTRA ACTIVITIES ON OFFER AS LOCKDOWN MEASURES ARE EASED AGAIN ON MAY 17

- By ANDREW TOPPING

FAMILIES booked in for a stay at Center Parcs can will be able to go swimming again when Covid restrictions are eased further this month.

More activities will be opened up to holidaymakers at the companies villages as measures are loosened again on May 17 as part of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.

The family-favourite destination, which has a holiday village in Sherwood Forest and is headquartered in New Ollerton, has revealed the changes that will affect guests booked in from that date.

They include the return of the Subtropical Swimming Paradise, as well as indoor dining in restaurants.

A Center Parcs spokesperson said: “We’re running many of our usual activities, although we’ve reduced the number of guests per session.

“Our colleagues will be wearing PPE where necessary and some activities may require to bring your own face covering.

“You’ll be pleased to know that the full 400 acres of forest, beach and outdoor playgrounds will all be open for you to explore.

“Our Cycle Centre will also be open, but as with our other activities you will need to pre-book your cycle hire in advance online.”

The Subtropical Swimming Paradise’s reopening will also come with extra safety measures in place.

Advanced booking will be required to ensure all guests have the opportunity to use the facilities, while also being socially distanced.

There will also be a limit on the number of times guests can use the facilities during their break, with one two-hour session available for a twonight break.

People on a three or four-night break can enjoy two sessions, while three sessions are available on five or six-night breaks.

Guests staying for a week can access the pool four times during their break.

Most of the slides and rides will be open, including the Wild Water Rapids. However, the wave machine will not be in operation.

Temperature checks will be carried out at the swimming site upon arrival, as part of a raft of Covidsecure measures across the villages.

Further measures will be in place for the Aqua Sana Spa, including staggered arrival times, face coverings and people already wearing swimwear under their clothes.

Cleaning regimes have also been further enhanced across the villages. However, daily housekeeping inside lodges is no longer available.

Extra measures have also been put in place in the company’s village restaurants, with indoor eating in groups of up to six allowed.

These include spacing out tables, utilising single-use menus and closing off indoor soft play areas for children. Guests must also scan the NHS Test and Trace app. However, if they wish to eat in their lodge, delivery options are also available.

If the Government’s roadmap goes to plan, most social distancing measures are likely to be removed on June 21.
