A FITNESS revolution that has swept across America is heading to Nottingham later this month – opening on the site of a former Harvester.

Orangetheory Fitness, which has more than 1,200 studios across the US, uses science, coaching and technology to “guarantee” maximum results from the inside out.

The new studio will be based in Castle Bridge Road, with two floors of hi-tech equipment for a mix of endurance and strength-building programmes designed to meet the specific goals of members.

Ten new jobs will be created by the venture, which sets out to improve levels of fitness and cardiovascular health through its innovative results-based fitness programmes.

Tailored to each participant’s personal fitness levels, the stationbased fitness phenomenon combines science with technology. The mix of cardiovascular and resistance training is tracked via heart-rate monitors, providing performance data in real-time on screens and via the Orangetheory app.

Fitness fans are invited to have a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities ahead of the official launch on May 24.

A limited number of discounted pre-sale founder memberships are available for those looking to secure their place before the opening date, and visitors are welcome to try a free class.

The news follows the successful launch of the first East Midlands Orangetheory branch in Derby, in October 2019. The Us-based fitness franchise has seven other locations across the UK.

Ahead of the Nottingham launch, studio manager, Alistair Hinchliffe said: “Orangetheory is all about building a community and providing that ‘local gym’ feel. We like to seek out lesser populated but thriving urban areas, offering innovative plans that support the local environment.

“Nottingham is a fantastic location for this; it has an active music, arts and cultural scene, with a vibrant landscape of cafes, bars and businesses. This is exactly the type of city we love to embed ourselves in.

“We’re really excited about bringing the Orangetheory Fitness concept to Nottingham, building a new wellness community in the city and supporting its local businesses and high streets.”

The studio isw now open from 9am to 6pm each day.

From July onwards, classes will start at 6am with the last class at 8pm each day.
