Man in court after ‘gunshots’

A MAN has appeared in court charged in connection with reported gunshots.

Jordan Bradshaw, 27, is charged with possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.

Bradshaw, of Vickers Street, Warsop, was remanded in custody and appeared at Nottingham Magistrate­s’ Court yesterday.

Armed police officers were called and swiftly responded to reports of a disturbanc­e involving individual­s allegedly armed with swords in Oak Drive, Eastwood just before 1.50pm on Monday. Gunshots were also heard. The area was cordoned off while officers carried out door-to-door and CCTV enquiries.

There were no reported injuries or reports of any damage being caused.

An 18-year-old man – arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and affray – was released on conditiona­l bail.

Detective Inspector Mike Ebbins, of Nottingham­shire Police, said: “Clearly any report of a firearms offence is a serious matter which we treat extremely seriously.

“We will always look to take robust action against those suspected to have committed such offences.

“We’ve been working tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened as a result of this work we’ve made arrests and now charged a suspect.

“No-one should have to live in fear of violence and we will not tolerate the use of such weapons on our streets.”

A 20-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of violent disorder has been released with no further action.

Detectives are still looking to speak with anybody that thinks they may have any informatio­n about the incident, or anyone that may have recorded CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage.
