A NEW sandwich bar called Munch’n’bunch is set to open later this month in St Anns

Diane Gillespie,

58, co-owner of Scentiments florists in St Anns Well Road, is expanding her business at the same premises to cater to new trade.

The florist will be on the first floor and the new breakfast bar will be on the ground floor.

There are also plans to have outside seating available for customers.

She said: “I am really excited but also really nervous.

“I am really positive about it and have had lots of local support.

“People are really excited.”

The cafe will offer customers an array of food including salads, breakfast options, jacket potatoes and hot drinks.

Munch’n’bunch will open on Monday, September 20, and hopes to become a healthy lunch option for residents. Diane added: “The reason was there is nothing around here – no healthy options.

“I was thinking what is missing in the area – there is nowhere to have a healthy snack and I struggle to find things to eat.” Currently, the shop is being transformed by being repainted, with additional seating outside. Flowers are also being displayed outside the building.

Miss Gillespie explained how at the moment the flower business is unpredictable, which is a reason behind starting up the sandwich bar. She added: “Wholesalers are going bankrupt and it has been really difficult. “I realised I needed to diversify. “The support from local people is amazing and the feedback has been brilliant.”
