Interesting points about MP I voted for

-

MY millionaire MP Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for Housing, is asking councils and housing associations to urgently produce three- and four-bedroomed houses for Afghan refugees.

He is obviously ignorant to the fact that there is a waiting list for these types of houses for up to 19 years in some areas.

We are also more interested in giving these houses to our own people or to ex-servicemen.

Jenrick (pictured) seems to be a controversial character. He owns two properties in London plus a manor in Herefordshire. He describes his main residence as his house in London yet claims to pay for a house in Newark which he apparently rarely uses.

I was under the impression that the idea of paying for a second residence was to allow MPS in the provinces to attend Parliament in London, not the other way around.

He overrode an east London council and Government planning inspectorate to approve a £1bn development of flats for newspaper magnate Richard Desmond, which was pushed through the day before a community levy would have come into force, providing £45 million for Tower Hamlets Council to spend on development.

Jenrick backed down when challenged in court.

Two weeks later Desmond made a donation to the Conservative Party of £12,000 and this has raised eyebrows, though this would be a very poor return for a saving of £45 million.

I wish to point out that I am a Conservative supporter and voted for Mr Jenrick.
