Mum’s death left a ‘massive hole in the lives of those who loved her’
KATHLEEN, 77, DIED AS A RESULT OF INJURIES SUSTAINED IN CAR CRASH
A FAMILY has paid tribute to a “talented and encouraging” mother who died following a car crash.
Kathleen Hinsley, 77, died in hospital on November 11, eight days after being involved in a collision on Annesley Road, Hucknall.
Mrs Hinsley, was a mother-of-two who had been married to husband Brian, 80, for 49 years.
Her family said: “Kathleen was a familiar face to many in Hucknall. Prior to her retirement 17 years ago she worked at Haywoods on Watnall Road and was one of the founders of the St Mary Magdalene Pram Club.
“She was a talented seamstress, cook and baker with her chocolate cake always in high demand.
“Her death on November 11 as a result of injuries received in a road traffic accident has left a massive hole in the lives of those who loved her and cared for her.”
Two other people were injured in the crash, including Mr Hinsley who is now recovering at home.
The family added: “She will be remembered as a person who was small in stature but had the strength and determination of someone twice her size. She was fiercely protective of her family and a constant support and encouragement to many.
“We will be forever grateful for the care she received from paramedics, the fire service and police officers who were first on the scene and to the staff who looked after her and cared for her during her final days.”
Nottinghamshire Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
Case investigator Sarah Butler, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Kathleen’s family at this incredibly difficult time. This is a heartbreaking incident in which a woman has sadly died and we understand the impact this can have on loved ones.
“But we are ensuring that Kathleen’s family are being supported by specially trained officers following this tragic incident.”
Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 165 of November 3 2021.
