PLAYER RATINGS

-

BRICE SAMBA:

Kept his team in the game with some big saves, in the first half especially. Wasn’t much he could do about the equaliser. Rating: 7/10

DJED SPENCE:

Not at his best. Hopefully, any talk about his future hasn’t been a distraction. Didn’t get forward as much as usual. Rating: 6/10

JOE WORRALL:

Generally dealt well with the Royals’ attacking threat, even when Andy Carroll joined the fray. Weighed in with plenty of tackles and won his fair share of headers. Rating: 7/10

SCOTT MCKENNA:

Typical performance from the defender. Stood strong when Reading had the visitors on the back foot and showed composure when he had the ball. Good awareness at times, too. Rating: 7/10

MAX LOWE:

A real blow to see him go down after half an hour and be forced off with a groin injury. It will be a huge miss if he is out for long. Rating: 6/10

JACK COLBACK:

Immense. Covered so much ground, particularly in the first half, and was constantly looking to break up play. In a rich vein of form at the moment. Well and truly back to his best. Rating: 8/10

RYAN YATES:

A little sloppy with the ball at times and the midfield lost their grip on the game a bit when Lowe went off. Tried to get his team on the front foot, though. Rating: 6/10

PHILIP ZINCKERNAGEL:

Absolutely fantastic effort for his third of the season, slaloming through before thumping the ball beyond Luke Southwood. A shame it didn’t earn three points. Quiet after that. Rating: 7/10

JOE LOLLEY:

Teed up Zinckernagel for the opener amid a bright start, but faded as the game went on, with the attacking players struggling to gel. Wayward effort before the break summed things up. Rating: 6/10

BRENNAN JOHNSON:

A really quiet game by his standards. Found it difficult to get on the ball and make an impact. Did look brighter towards the end, just needed better decision-making at times. Rating: 6/10

LEWIS GRABBAN:

Left to rue two huge moments in the second half. Could have passed to a team-mates when he had the chance to make it 2-0 early on, then rounded the keeper only to fire into the side-netting. Rating: 6/10
