IMAGES have been released showing the new house types which are planned as a Stapleford estate continues to be built under new developers .

Plans were recently submitted to update the style of house types at the Field Farm development off Ilkeston Road in Stapleford, where a further 332 homes could be built.

Developer Peveril Homes has said the new plans for the estate would move away from the originally proposed apartments and focus on a mix of housing that allows residents to enjoy more outdoor space after Covid.

Earlier this year the developer bought the partially completed site from W.westerman Ltd as part of a larger deal after they were unable to finance the second and third phases of construction.

Tom Broster, Technical and Construction Director at Peveril Homes, said: “There have been a number of planning applications associated with the Field Farm development and this latest submission is for the substitution of the existing house types on the second phase of the development.

“This includes 132 residential dwellings, previously approved as part of the full application, and will include a mixture of house types following the original plans.

“The original Westerman application included a number of apartments, however, following the pandemic and the subsequent rise in appreciation for outdoor space, Peveril Homes has made the decision to focus on a wider range of houses whilst offering a mix of house types that should appeal to all purchaser profiles.

“Our application is reflective of the premium product being delivered throughout the East Midlands by Peveril Homes, and consists of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, designed to meet the demand of buyers within the region.”

Locals have previously spoken of their excitement over the plans, but expressed reservations over traffic in the area.

Infrastructure for the estate is currently being constructed in line with the designs and details already approved by Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Severn Trent, while the application for the amended house types is being determined by Broxtowe Borough Council.

The outline planning consent allows for up to 200 additional homes as well as a local centre which will form the third phase of the development.

The design and proposals for this phase are currently being reviewed and the developer said it is hoping to submit a reserved matters application for this element of the Field Farm development in early 2022.

Construction has been ongoing for a number of years after initial planning consent was given for the Field Farm estate by Broxtowe Borough Council in November 2014. Some of the first phase homes of the development have already been completed.
