TRIBUTES continue to pour in for a man who died after a fatal stabbing in The Meadows.

A marquee has been put up in Bathley Street where people have paid their respects to Michael Anton O’connor.

Dozens of bouquets were left inside the tent on Wednesday, alongside framed pictures of him with his loved ones.

A heartfelt floral arrangement has also been displayed, with giant letters forming the message: “Love is pain”.

Candles were also lit in memory of the 31-year-old, who died last month.

Police were called after reports of a fight in Wilford Crescent West shortly before 10.30pm on November 10.

On arrival, officers found Mr O’connor, from Alexandra Park, in a critical condition. He later died at the Queen’s Medical Centre.

In total, 11 people have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing in The Meadows.

Benjamin Taylor, 37, of Monton Road, Eccles, Manchester, has become the 11th person to be charged with murder in connection with the investigation.

Ten other people have previously been charged with murder.

They include Leonard Ward, 41, of Marwood Road, Carlton; Joseph Boscombe, 39, of Rostherne Avenue, Manchester; Joshua Agboola, 28, of Leven Grove, Darwen, Blackburn, and Carla Mcguire, 51, of Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows.

Also charged are Michael Mingoes, 19, of Powell Street, Manchester; Jerome Sheard, 29, of Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows; Rebecca Bell, 36, of Loughrigg Close, The Meadows; Paula Usherwood, 37, of Central Avenue, Beeston; Michael Mcguire, 34, of Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows, and Curtis Sheard, 23, of Wilford Crescent West, The Meadows.

They have all been remanded in custody.

A 12th person, Kerry-anne Shepherd, 34, of Plantagenet Street, St Ann’s, who is charged with assisting an offender, was also remanded in custody after appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court last month.

Earlier this month, Detective Chief Inspector Rob Routledge, who is leading the investigation, said: “Specialist officers are continuing to support Michael’s family at this difficult time and officers will maintain their visible presence in The Meadows as part of their continuing efforts to reassure the local community.”
