Dunkin’ Donuts confirms store at West Bridgford retail park

-

DUNKIN’ Donuts has announced plans to open a new branch at a £20 million Nottinghamshire retail park.

The Wilford Lane retail park, currently under construction between Becket School and Wilford Lane in West Bridgford, will be the site of the new outlet.

On December 16 an application was submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council to put up signage for the American chain at the retail park.

Dunkin’ Donuts recently opened two stores in Nottingham, in Alfreton Road and at the Exchange Arcade.

The retail park, which is hoped to open early next year, has previously secured contacts with Starbucks and Puregym.

And earlier this year supermarket giant Lidl confirmed that they would open up a new store on the West Bridgford site.

A new Aldi supermarket could also soon be built on the former Château restaurant site near to the retail park on land between the Wilford Lane Tram Stop and The Becket Way, where up to 40 full and part-time jobs may be created in the future.

The Wilford retail park project was revised after proposals for more than 200 apartments, as well as a pub, were rejected by council chiefs in 2019 when concerns were raised about the impact on traffic.

At the time of the project’s approval in 2020, Frank Gillespie, development director at Wilford Lane Developments, said: “We’re very pleased with the council’s decision to approve our proposals for the Wilford Lane site in West Bridgford.

“This development will bring investment, employment opportunities – overall, the site will create approximately 80 new jobs - and improved retail choice to the local area, all while breathing new life into a key local site that has been left disused for a number of years.”
