Empty bus station promises for Bulwell

-

EVEN on a wet, dark, and cool bleak January day, a local weekly newspaper report brought an instant smile when reading another mountain of political propaganda.

Bulwell Labour councillor Joannou was reported as saying improving the Vere Street bus station is “the lift Bulwell needs”.

As a long-standing Bulwellian, I can assure the rest of the city that it will take more than solar panels or wind turbines, or ramps to assist the disabled to improve the quality of life for many in Bulwell’s depressed and unkempt communities. NCT buses already have dropped access to assist the disabled. Pavements have dropped kerbs too.

Demoralised Bulwell (Cinderella town) has filthy, weed-infested streets, crumbling brick walls, and roads that have massive holes.

The report mentioned improving the environment. This is the political party that was involved in dumping thousands of tonnes of tram construction waste on the protected green belt that prevented Nottingham citizens from enjoying their historical rambles away from the politically-inspired encroaching housing developments.

Knowing how local Labour functions it is not a win-win situation for everyone. Considering how the Post exposed the Labour-administered council diverting public money, one has to consider that the Government’s Transforming Cities money to improve our community will again be diverted elsewhere to balance their accounts.

The report further informed us how to submit thoughts and suggestions via email. Many of the elderly do not know how to use the internet.

Those who have experienced arrogance from this political party and council management, like me, I can safely say you will never have access to those suggestions. Even if they do become publicly available, then you will witness only those who support this scheme.

Only Bulwell’s politically active who support this councillor will be invited to discuss improving Bulwell.
