Elektra: Black, White & Blood #1

Marvel kicks off the new year with this four-part anthology series paying tribute to fan-favourite, Elektra.

The assassin is the fourth Marvel character to get the monochroma­tic treatment, following in the footsteps of Wolverine, Carnage and Deadpool.

This impressive miniseries brings to life untold stories from Elektra’s past, written by some of the comic giant’s best authors.

Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1

Another miniseries begins this week, this time from that other comic powerhouse – DC.

Set in a post-apocalypti­c future, where climate change has caused society to crumble, four unique parliament­s have been establishe­d to find a way to wipe the slate clean and start again.

The problem is, their bright idea was to summon one of the most horrific monsters to ever stalk the land – and Swamp Thing may be the only one that’s standing between what’s left of humanity and oblivion.

Written by Jeff Lemire, with art by Doug Mahnke, Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1 is out now, priced £6.30.

Power Rangers Universe #1

Power Ranger fans are travelling all the way back to the beginning in this new series which explores the true origin of the Phantom Ranger.
