Heart Broken Fragile Lives

-

Hello, can you see me

I am always by your side

I held your hand in the darkness

I comforted you when you cried

You may not be able to see me As I am not that far away

I watch you when you’re on your knees

I am beside you when you pray

I feel the pain you are feeling For the hurt and a broken heart For the loss of someone very close Now that you are both apart

You may have lost the material For now you are feeling the pain But please trust me my friend For you both will meet again

For the spirit world is all around And a reunion will take place Then all your sorrow will diminish Seeing your loved one’s smiling face Malcolm G Bradshaw

As gingerly they passed Along the narrowing, winding sluice, Out to the sea once more.

Each evening when that boat returned Along that meandering stream, Wives and lovers lent a hand, Enthusiasm never spurned. quay.

They’ll gather on the dripping quay; A lonely group they’ll be, With kinfolk in that restless grave Out there beyond the

I turn again, there is no sign Of that fishing boat once proud. It still rests there as boats pass by, Far below the line.

What fragile lives we tend to keep Out there beyond the bar, Below the passing clouds so dark, And stormy seas so deep.
