HARRY Potter star Tom Felton left staff and customers spellbound when he turned up at a Nottingham pub

The star and a female companion popped into the Water’s Edge for food and drinks – to the amazement of fans of the iconic films.

And while Harry Potter’s archrival Draco Malfoy was cruel and mean, actor Tom couldn’t have been more likeable.

His surprise visit came soon after the cast reunion in Harry Potter: Return To Hogwarts aired on Sky on New Year’s Day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film.

Customers at the Hungry Horse pub, in Castle Bridge Road, did a double take.

Team leader, and Harry Potter fan Adam Pavier, 24, said: “I’ve seen all the films multiple times. It was definitely a shock.

“After he left I had to go into our kitchen and I laid on the floor for a

little bit to calm myself down.

“He was brilliant – a proper nice guy.”

After tucking into a 5oz gammon steak with a side of mac and cheese, Tom went back up to the bar and chatted to staff.

They got selfies with the actor but

Adam is gutted that his photo turned out blurry because his screen protector around the camera lens was cracked.

“He was really nice – just happy to talk to us. He spoke about the anniversary special that was just shown and said it was strange seeing everyone and how some people just haven’t changed.”

Adam said he was gutted that he didn’t think at the time to show the actor his tattoo of the Deathly Hallows logo on his forearm.

The actor doesn’t appear to have been filming locally, and told staff he was “travelling”.

“One table was like ‘oh my God, it’s him’ and we had a few people come up afterwards asking who it was. We told them and they were like ‘wow,’” said Adam.

“I started working there just after the first lockdown. We’d happily have more famous visitors,” he added.

The pub posted the news on its Facebook page, saying: “Wait until my father hears about this! Here is Harry Potter star Tom Felton coming by for a quick drink and meal this evening as well as taking the time to take some photos with our incredible staff.

“Thanks for coming tonight Tom! We’re all glad you could... Slytherin...”

One fan who wished she’d been there posted: “This is so so so unfair!!! He was half an hour away!!! HALF AN HOUR AWAY FROM ME!!! I’m going to cry.” Another added: “OMG my daughter would have loved to have seen him.”
