Thousands of Notts hospital workers still to be fully vaccinated
FRONTLINE STAFF URGED TO GET JABBED BEFORE TIME RUNS OUT
MORE than 2,000 workers across hospitals in Nottinghamshire have not received their second Covid vaccination, according to the latest data.
Health bosses in the city and county have urged workers to get the jab before it is made mandatory for front-line NHS staff in April.
On November 28 last year, 2,089 workers across Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) and Sherwood Forest Hospitals (SFH) were not fully jabbed.
This figure includes those who had not even had one jab.
The NHS data shows that 1,563 of the staff were at NUH, with 526 at SFH - accounting for 8.3 per cent and 6.9 per cent of their work forces respectively.
Nearly 500 staff at NUH, which runs the Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital, had only had their first jab by that date. The same was the case for more than 100 workers at SFH, which runs
King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton-inashfield, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital.
An NHS spokesperson for Nottingham
and Nottinghamshire urged staff to get the vaccine in order to “protect themselves and patients”.
NHS workers across England have until April to get their Covid jab, else they will be moved to another role.
A spokesperson for the NHS said: “All NHS organisations continue to provide opportunities for supportive conversations in which colleagues can ask questions, so we can understand any concerns they may have about getting the vaccine.
“We continue to urge colleagues who have not yet had the vaccine to do so in order to help protect themselves, their family and our patients.
“Across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire the vaccination programme continues to provide a comprehensive offer to colleagues to ensure that they can easily get their first or second vaccination whilst on shift, or at a convenient time for them.”
