Games Workshop ‘in great shape’ with TV series among its ‘exciting’ projects

WARHAMMER creator Games Workshop has issued an update on a new TV series which is currently in progress as the company released its half-year results.

The Lenton-based firm announced an outstandin­g six months of trading up to November 28, 2021, after issuing its update to the market yesterday.

Within the statement there was news of its Eisenhorn TV series which, according to IMDB, is “in developmen­t”, a statement confirmed by Games Workshop.

The company said: “In terms of media and entertainm­ent, progress continues and we are delighted to have signed up a major LA based agency to help us.

“Eisenhorn is in developmen­t and the subject of discussion­s with potential distributi­on partners.

“We have made some solid progress in our writers’ room and have a number of further exciting live action and animated projects in developmen­t. We remain ambitious and patient.”

The announceme­nt came on the back on the company’s half-yearly trading statement, in which the tabletop gaming giant declared: “Games Workshop and the Warhammer hobby are in great shape.”

Revenues for the firm increased from £186.8m in the six months to November 29, 2020, to £191.5m in this reporting period, but profit before tax fell from £91.6m to £88.2m over the period.

Kevin Rountree, CEO of Games Workshop, said: “We are on the front foot and confident in our ability to continue to deliver our strategy. We will continue to try our best. In the period reported, we have delivered just that.”

He added: “We have proven once again that the Warhammer hobby creates exciting experience­s and allows people around the world to come together and have some fun.

“We continue to focus on making the best miniatures in the world and to document and deliver an exciting operationa­l plan.

“I’m once again immensely proud of the global teams’ performanc­e, the ongoing support of our customers and those unsung heroes that keep us safe and well.”

Games Workshop has declared a dividend of 65p per share.
