1 LIVE AND LET DIE Tonight, ITV, 8pm

The dashing 007 must travel from the streets of Harlem to the

Caribbean to stop a drugs lord, rescue a beautiful clairvoyan­t, and fend off the attentions of a voodoo master, a Superfly-style narcotics baron and a henchman with a hook for a hand. One of Roger Moore’s finest outings as Bond and ticks all the right boxes. The action sequences rival anything Hollywood has put out in the decades since, while Moore hadn’t yet started his more tongue-in-cheek take on the role. Jane Seymour, Yaphet Kotto, David Hedison, Lois Maxwell and Bernard Lee also star.

2 MOANA Tomorrow, BBC1, 4pm

Chief’s daughter Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho), left, lives on the island of Motunui. She is told a story about the demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson), who stole the heart of island goddess Te Fiti and lost the green stone during a battle with a lava demon. Moana seeks out Maui to restore Te Fiti’s missing heart in this rites-of-passage adventure.

3 THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES Monday, BBC2, 11.15pm

Motorcycli­st Luke (Ryan Gosling) is part of a stunt show in a circus, until he learns he has fathered a son by Romina (Eva Mendes, left). To provide for his family Luke starts robbing banks, but is caught by cop Avery (Bradley Cooper). Years later, the men’s offspring (Emory Cohen and Dane Dehaan) are flung together with violent consequenc­es.

4 HELLBOY Tuesday, ITV4, 9pm

Demon Hellboy (Ron Perlman, left), raised by the Nazis in the final days of the Second World War but weaned from the dark side by a paranormal expert, joins a team fighting present-day fascist sorcery. The hero juggles the demands of his role with his attempts to woo fragile friend Liz (Selma Blair) in this comic book adaptation.

5 ROBOCOP Wednesday, Channel 5, 11.20pm

In 2028, laws prevent mechanised soldiers from patrolling America’s streets. Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton), CEO of Omnicorp, tries to sway political opinion and when incorrupti­ble cop Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) is critically injured, he’s rebuilt with Omnicorp technology and reborn as the eponymous saviour, left, in this glossy remake.

6 THE AFRICAN QUEEN Thursday, BBC4, 9pm

Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart), captains the riverboat African Queen. While working in East Africa in 1914, German troops attack a mission, resulting in the death of Rev Samuel Sayer (Robert Morley). Sayer’s sister Rose (Katharine Hepburn, left with Bogart) charters Charlie to spirit her away and sparks of attraction fly.

7 WHEN HARRY MET SALLY Friday, BBC1, 10.40pm

Classic rom-com. Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan, left) meet as recent college graduates who share the drive from Chicago to New York – and fail to hit it off. After more brief encounters, they become friends in their 30s when they’re both recently out of relationsh­ips. Will they take a chance on being more than just mates?
