TWO more retail units have been taken on by growing menswear retailer Wiseguys, which now has six stores across the Midlands.

Commercial property agents FHP have confirmed the letting of retail units in the town centres of Newark and Chesterfield.

Wiseguys has moved from its former Newark location on Middle Gate into a larger unit measuring over 6,000ft at ground floor. The building was previously home to a Dorothy Perkins, but will become Wiseguys’ new flagship store.

The business has teamed up with their sister brand, Wisegirls, for this bigger space on Stodman Street so that they can provide a men and women’s offering. The business has also taken on a store on Packers Row, Chesterfield, which was a former Greenwoods.

The building stood vacant for a number of years, but following a programme of refurbishment, Wiseguys is now open and trading.

Mike Willis, director at Wise Guys, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to continue to grow the business.

FHP acted on behalf of the separate landlords on both properties.

Oliver Marshall, of FHP, said: “It’s brilliant to see an independent retailer like Wiseguys growing. They have taken on two very prominent locations in attractive market towns.

“These two deals highlight our strength as market leaders in the East Midlands as we are able to explore multiple units with acquisitive operators across the region.

“Mike is a great operator and we wish him well on these new openings.”
