Zara to compete at Thoresby Park
FORMER World and European Champion Zara Tindall will be taking part in an equestrian competition in Nottinghamshire over the Easter weekend.
The King’s niece will be competing two horses in the advanced competition at The Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park, near Ollerton, from tomorrow until Sunday.
The Spring Carnival is the first international event of the British season and will be attended by equestrian fans from all over the country.
Zara will be competing in the dressage phase on Good Friday, followed by the crosscountry phase on the lawns of Thoresby Hall on Saturday.
There are more than 700 entries in this year’s event, including Pippa Funnell in
the sole advanced class on Saturday. The Rolex Grand Slam winner will take to the course with Majas Hope and MCS Maverick.
Last year’s Badminton champions and reigning European Champions, Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo, will also be returning to Thoresby.
Visitors can also expect to see reigning World Champions Yasmin Ingham and Banzai du Loir, and Grantham Cup winners, Emily King and Valmy Biats.
Thoresby’s array of international classes is a great place to discover the horses and riders who will soon become household names, as competitors travel from all over the world to take part.
Tickets start at just £10 per person, or £15 for a family ticket bundle on Easter Sunday. The bundle includes two adults, parking and two Easter Egg hunt tickets.
There will also be the Great Thoresby Easter Egg Hunt, at just £2 per entry, with chocolate guaranteed, as well as exclusive show jumping and cross-country course walks with the stars of the show, raising money for the Riders Minds charity.
