Princess Beatrice took us all by surprise when she got hitched to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday. The low-key, private ceremony at Windsor Castle may not have been quite the day she’d originally planned (she had to cancel their May date because of the global

Covid-19 pandemic) but the Queen and Prince Philip were both there to see her walk down the aisle. How many people can say their 99-yearold grandfather and 94-year-old grandmother were at their wedding? The elder daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will treasure that memory forever, I’m sure.

I was lucky enough to be at Beatrice’s sister Eugenie’s wedding in 2018. I had a precious pass that took me behind the walls of Windsor while escorting guests back and forth to the studio for ITV’S coverage. It was the most exciting two days ever. I saw Prince George and Charlotte arrive for the wedding rehearsal. She naturally stuck her tongue out at us – and on the official day I had a great view of Harry and Meghan, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and the Queen arriving. I even made it on the lunchtime news as I clapped the new bride and groom as they rode away in that stunning Scottish State Coach.

So, from one wedding to another. Brooklyn Beckham’s forthcoming nuptials to American actress Nicola Peltz will have all the excitement of a royal ceremony. His future father-in-law is a billionaire, so I’m sure there won’t be a small guest list. With the likes of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Sir Elton John and the Spice Girls all likely to be there, it’s set to be one hell of a do. I do hope the editor of OK! will be invited!
