INSIDE BROOKLYN AND NICOLA’S TRANSATLANTIC WEDDINGS

AN ECO-FRIENDLY RURAL ENGLISH BASH AND A FESTIVAL-THEMED AFFAIR IN AMERICA WILL CREATE EVEN MORE BUZZ THAN VICTORIA AND DAVID’S OWN NUPTIALS

-

The upcoming nuptials of Brooklyn Beckham and American actress Nicola Peltz will bring all the excitement of a royal wedding, eclipsing Victoria and David Beckham’s own big day, according to acclaimed celebrity wedding planner Julie Perry.

The happy couple, who announced their engagement on 11 July following a whirlwind nine-month romance, are reportedly planning to spend £4million staging two separate weddings on either side of the Atlantic.

Julie, whose company Julie Perry Events organised Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s 2008 Italian nuptials among others, says it’s the perfect opportunity to create two very contrasting occasions on an epic scale.

“With some guests going to both the UK and the US weddings, it makes sense to have two very different themes,” says Julie. “A quintessentially English garden theme, perhaps at the Beckhams’ Cotswolds home, would be perfect. In America, where they go in for very opulent weddings, a more lavish affair would be fitting, with a festival-themed reception to reflect how Brooklyn and Nicola originally met at Coachella. Eco-friendly weddings are very on-trend, and I would envisage their UK wedding having

locally-sourced products from the Cotswolds and a ban on plastic.”

Julie also believes that Brooklyn will want to pay tribute to his parents. “I think Brooklyn will be hugely influenced by Victoria and David’s big day. Their 1999 wedding was all about making a statement – it was really theatrical, with lots of outfit changes. As a young, fashionable couple, Brooklyn and Nicola will also set trends for future weddings, just like his parents did. The Beckhams were the first to have his ‘n’ her thrones at their wedding, which then became a popular request for brides and grooms.

“It will be all about the wow factor, on the scale of a big theatrical production, with a focus on lighting and entertainment. Victoria has that background so I think she’ll have lots of influence in that. In fact, I think Victoria will probably enjoy going all out to make her son’s wedding an absolute statement.”

The prospect of watching the pair exchange vows will be quite the hot ticket.

“They’re the new power couple, so it will be like getting an invitation to a royal wedding,” says Julie.

Brooklyn, 21, and Nicola, 25, began dating in October last year, having originally been introduced by mutual friend Sofia Richie at the Coachella music festival three years earlier. They went Instagram official in January, and within weeks Brooklyn was calling his girlfriend “my best friend forever”, while she was dubbing him “the love of my life”.

In the past, Brooklyn has dated US actress Chloë Grace Moretz, singer Lexy Panterra, and a string of models including Sonia Ben Ammar, Lexi Wood and Hana Cross. Nicola has been linked to Justin Bieber and Anwar Hadid.

Brooklyn announced their happy engagement news on Instagram. Sharing their plans to not only marry but start a family, he wrote, “I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day.”

On her own Instagram, Nicola told her fiancé, “You’ve made me the luckiest girl in the world. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. Your love is the most precious gift.” She also thanked Brooklyn’s nine-yearold sister Harper for taking the official engagement photo. 21st birthday party in March. Apparently crediting Nicola with “calming down” her eldest child, Victoria says of their engagement, “We could not be happier.” Here’s what we can look forward to from the double wedding of the decade...
