SHARES THIS WEEK’S MUST-HAVES, TRENDS AND TIPS

1 Capital gains

I know we’ve all been pining for far-flung beaches but, oddly, the place I’ve missed most of all is far closer to home. I’m genuinely nostalgic for my daily journey into London, give or take the odd commuter armpit, and I’m longing to see all those familiar sights with fresh eyes. So it’s pretty apt that Burberry has chosen the gradual easing of lockdown to launch Her London Dream, from £50. It’s a suitably cosmopolitan blend of lemon, ginger, peony, rose and musk. I will be wearing it when I bounce Bridget Jones-style across London Bridge again.

2 Sunny delight

Suncare doesn’t usually have much ‘ooh’ appeal but how could you not want these Sun Bum bottles, from £15.99, in your bag? It’s the most adorably hipster brand from Cocoa Beach, Florida with fans including Adriana Lima and Kendall Jenner, and it’s just flown into Boots. It all looks and smells like it belongs somewhere cooler than you are right now, with a curated cocktail list, all-day fusion tapas and an ambient sundown DJ set.

3 Prickly topic

My recent experience with nettles has involved crying kids and hunts for dock leaves, but it seems I’ve missed a trick. Celeb facialist Deborah Mitchell, whose clients include Tess Daly, has just created ‘nettle Botox’ to sting wrinkles into submission. Deborah – who actually put nettles on her own forehead while developing Heaven Skincare Nettle Venom Anti Ageing Cream, £64 – says the venom in the leaves triggers skin to go into rapid repair mode. Thankfully, the product itself has only a momentary wisp of tingle and gives the Botoxlike tightening effects without feeling like you’ve landed headfirst in a nettle patch.

4 Fine line

Where do you draw the line? Well, if you’re using NYX Professional Makeup Epic Wear semipermanent liners, the answer is – all over. They come in eight waterproof shades, £9 each, and the idea is to use them for feline flicks AND swirly body art. Sadly there are no festivals to test them at, but I did sleep in the stuff on a glamping trip and it lasted two days without running down my face.

5 Can do

I couldn’t wait to crack open this Thirst For Life palette, £22, which is meant to be the makeup equivalent of chugging an ice cold full-fat Coke. It’s part of the Coca-cola X Morphe collection, and pops with fizzy caramels, icy blues and iconic Coke can reds. It’s the real thing, guys.
