Have you heard of Pasta Grannies? It’s a project from author Vicky Bennison, who set out to celebrate Italian nonne (plus the occasional grandfathe­r) and the pasta they make – the kind of comforting, nourishing dishes that bring the whole family together. It started as a series of YouTube videos, but in a bid to ensure that such recipes were never forgotten, Vicky has now turned her project into a cookbook. It features 75 grandmothe­rs from across Italy, sharing such recipes as pansotti with walnut pesto, and ‘straw’ and ‘hay’ tagliatell­e with peas (£20, Hardie Grant).
