Help to celebrate our Silver Jubilee

-

MANY readers may already be aware that this year here at Queenscourt Hospice we are celebrating our Silver Jubilee.

Twenty-five years of providing care in our community to local people at a time when they most need it, completely free of charge.

There are various events taking place to celebrate this special year and Queenscourt Hospice staff are also getting involved.

It was suggested that every member of staff should aim to raise at least £25 during the year and it was left open to individuals to choose how they would like to do this.

This has really captured the imagination of some people and they have been coming up with all sorts of ideas as to how to raise some funds.

One of our Queenscourt at Home team has chosen to open up her garden to all her U3A friends, providing afternoon tea as well as a tour around her garden and another is selling home grown plants to her colleagues at the hospice.

Some of the clinical team are doing a sponsored bike ride which will be a great challenge for them all, and another is organising a three-course meal with wine event for her friends.

Everyone is getting involved even staff who are off on maternity leave, one of our doctors organised a sweep to guess the name and sex of her unborn baby.

From the IT department one of our computer enthusiasts is currently undertaking a 25 hour video game marathon and he alone has raised more than £600!

From the income generation team, one person has decided to lose 25lbs in weight, another has taken on a fitness challenge and one mum has decided to organise a sponsored bunny hop around Freshfield dunes for her daughter and 13 friends.

Two others are holding Make a Cuppa Count events for their friends.

We’d love you to get involved in fundraising for Queenscourt Hospice during our Silver Jubilee year. You may like to hold a Make a Cuppa count event or perhaps you have your own idea. If not we’ve a list of 25 ideas of how to fundraise in our 25th year so please call fundraising on 01704 517 420 or e-mail fundraising@queen- scourt.org.uk for your copy. Upcoming events include: Charity Preview Evening, The Ince Blundell Treasures of The Grand Tour Exhibition at The Atkinson, Friday, June 10.
