Inside home even

THE family life of the men behind Ormskirk’s ‘home from hell’ has been revealed after the property was repossessed by the council.

West Lancashire Borough Council evicted David Fyles from his council home in Lea Crescent after it was found to have been seriously neglected.

They took action after a council officer said the living conditions were the worst he had seen in social housing in his 30 years in the job.

The toilet in the property was overflowing with effluent and the bath was being used as a toilet. Doors around the house were also smashed and rubbish was strewn all over the three-bedroom house. There was mouldy food found in most rooms of the property.

Councillor Jenny Patterson, portfolio holder for Housing and Landlord Services, said: “The photos showing the state of this property are truly shocking. It is extremely disappointing that someone the Council has given a home to has treated that home so badly when we have families on our waiting list who are desperate for a family-sized home.”

David Fyles and his two sons were previously evicted from the same property in 2011 after a decade of causing terror in the community.

The family subjected neighbours to years of abuse and physical threats as well as littering their gardens with cartons of bodily fluid and rubbish.

Fyles’ son Lee, now 24, was under an Asbo
