CD Music Academy and Rising Stars UK are presenting a fashion show and a Night at the Oscars in aid of the West Lancashire Mayoral Charities.

The events will take place at The Civic in Ormskirk on Saturday (October 8), when the busy day will be kicked off by CD Music Academy.

Britain’s Got Talent star Beau Dermott will be performing as a special guest artist at The Oscar Show and will be there to meet and greet at the end of the show.

The fashion show will begin at 12pm and it is designed to promote Ormskirk’s local businesses through a number of stalls and by getting CD Music Academy’s talented students to model clothing from local and exclusive boutiques in Ormskirk and the surrounding area.

The aim is to bring business and attention back to Ormskirk’s rich and diverse, yet under-appreciated, market town and highlight what it has to offer.

Students from CD Music Academy will take part in live performances and stalls from local businesses will be displaying throughout the day.

A raffle will also be taking place to help raise more money.

The event will run until 5pm and admission will be £6 for all ages.

West Lancashire Mayoral Charities 2016 are The Civic, Ormkirk; The Birchwood Centre, Skelmersdale; The Artz Centre, Skelmersdale and The Neonatal Unit, Ormskirk Hospital.

From 7.30pm, Rising Stars UK will be presenting A Night at the Oscars.

The event aims to showcase local talent and provide a platform for performers of any age to take to the stage in front of a live audience.

The event’s theme is ‘Glitz and Glamour’ so guests are invited to don a black tie or best dress and take a walk down the red carpet as Rising Stars prepare you for an excellent evening of entertainment and variety performances.

There will be some stalls from local businesses for you to browse during the interval, an open bar and refreshments, as well as a raffle. There will also be an opportunity to have your picture taken on the red carpet.

Edge Hill University media students will be involved in the filming throughout the day and night on a voluntary basis.

Raffle prizes include lounge tickets for Manchester United v Burnley donated for the game at Old Trafford.

Admission is £7.50 for all ages, the fashion show will begin at 12pm on October 8 and a Night at the Oscars will begin at 7.30pm. For more information on either event, contact The Civic on 01695 576607
