International pianist ready for Parbold

-

JAVIER Perianes, Spain’s premier pianist, is coming to Parbold.

Douglas Music is hosting the concert at the Village Hall on Novermber 19.

Javier was awarded the National Music Prize in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture of Spain, and his flourishing career already spans five continents with world-famous orchestras in some of the most prestigious venues on every continent.

He arrives in Parbold after a month-long tour of North and South America.

Javier’s Parbold concert includes Schubert’s much-loved final sonata, a work acknowledged as one of the great masterpieces for piano, with great contrasting melodies and drama.

As well as more works by Schubert and Debussy, Javier includes a piece by Spanish composer, Manuel De Falla, which evokes their homeland’s province of Andalusia.

This virtuoso work was originally written for the piano legend, Anton Rubenstein.

In partnership with West Lancs Dial-a-Ride, Douglas Music has set up a “Ticket and Ride” scheme to offer a subsidised mini-bus service for members of the audience who would love to come to their events but who cannot use public transport or do not have regular use of a car.

The cost of a return journey from pick-up point to the Parbold concerts and back will be £4 in addition to the cost of the ticket.

To book Ticket and Ride, first book your concert ticket at Douglas Music’s box office and then contact Dial-a-Ride to reserve a seat on the bus and to make the pick and drop-off arrangements.

Call 01704 893373 between 9am and 2pm weekdays or leave a message.

Tickets are £18, and as part of Douglas Music’s commitment to the community it has kept its admission price for students/young persons at £5 for any concert.

Douglas Music is supported by the Arts Council, England, Lancashire County Council and West Lancashire Borough Council.
