Police plea in search for stolen pup Mocha
ASIX-MONTH old cocker spaniel was stolen from her home in Downholland in Ormskirk on Monday morning.
Mocha was taken between 9am and 12noon according to Lancashire Police.
The dog was in her kennel at the back of the house on Owen Lane at the time.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “A female cocker spaniel was taken from a home in Downholland.
“It is believed that a lock had been forced to gain access to the kennel.”
Mocha’s owner Alex Kirk told the visiter.co.uk website that the chocolate brown pup is one of six dogs at her home and that she is sorely missed by them all.
“I have a Labrador pup about the same age as Mocha and we are hopeful about getting them reunited.”
Alex and her partner Nick Cooper are keen animal lovers and have been quick to get the pups microchipped in case they managed to get loose.
“We have informed police, local vets, shelters and even the relevant docks in the hope that if someone tries to pass through with her, her microchip can be checked and hopefully she will be returned to us.”
The couple are offering a reward for Mocha’s return but have so far not heard anything about her whereabouts.
In a plea to her Facebook friends, Alex stated that neighbours had reported a suspicious looking van in her driveway the morning Mocha was stolen.
“We have been told about a white Citroen Berlingo van with ladders on the roof driving down our driveway and acting suspiciously locally.
“If anyone has any info or sightings of this please get in touch.”
