FROM the Chelford Review, w/c November 28, 2016 CATTLE £300 a barrier stopping all the regular buyers, stopped many times top £302 for Colin Sherwin`s Simmental bull, Blues to £300 for Lea Farming and JG Moss, Angus bulls a much sharper trade to £240 at just eight days for RS Davies, many other Natives over £200, today some younger plainer types £120+. POULTRY Turkeys and geese were the top 10 highest prices, with two American Geese fetching £19 (all prices per head) two pens of two black turkey, four in total, £18, two white turkeys £17. Another two pens of bronze turkeys £17, another two white turkeys £16. A goose fetched £15 and a pair of Toulouse geese £15. PIGS Porkers average £108.25, Cutters average £121.49, Baconers average £104.42, Overweight average £115.50. SHEEP The Reserve Championsh­ip ticket was awarded to a pen of 42kg Texel Cross lambs from Ken House, Congleton, which sold for 280p/kg (£117.60 per head) to C. Partington, Glebe Farm Shop, Astbury, whilst the Young Farmers Championsh­ip was also won by the House family, this time with their 45kg Texel Crosses which made 255p/kg (£114.75 per head) to C. Webb Butchers. PRODUCE There was a much sharper trade for straw with round bale barley £76 to £94 per tonne and squarebale £74 to £81 per tonne. Big bale wheat straw £56 to £70 per tonne and a single load of oat straw £70 per tonne.

Small bale barley made £108 per tonne.
