ABURSCOUGH cafe is preparing to serve up a Christmas dinner for those in need - free.

Staff at Infusions Bistro are offering a three-course meal for anyone who would otherwise be alone or go without this Christmas.

Owner Craig Walsh said: “Nobody should be lonely at this time of year, and nobody should go without.

“We have had a great response from the local community, as always, we have had a number of people sponsor meals - as well as offers of help with waiting on tables and so on.”

Initially, the incentive would see up to 20 people enjoy the festive feast on Thursday, December 22 and now, thanks to the ‘overwhelming generosity’ of local people, the cafe is able to feed another 10 people on Wednesday December 23.

Both sittings will take place at 1pm.

Craig would like to thank the following people for their help: Steve & Sue Farrimond; Glenda Marland of Creative Kitchen Design in Burscough; Shirley Owen of KSO groundwork; John Davis and Julie Atherton; Phil Addy of Phil Addy Landscapes; Graham Warrilow and Phil Hands; and Phil and Carol Stott.

If you know anybody in need this Christmas, or would like to reserve a space for yourself - or if you would like to sponsor a meal - call Infusions on 01704 893356

Guests can expect a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, plus the chance to meet other people and maybe make some friends.
