Take on the Great North Run and help our hospice

-

HAVE you been inspired to take on a running challenge and get fit following the Olympics in Rio this year?

We may have just the challenge for you.

The Great North Run has become one of the largest half marathons in the world.

It attracts world class athletes such as Mo Farrah and Haile Gebrselassie.

More than 57,000 runners take part and the atmosphere has been described by participants as electric.

Starting in Newcastle-uponTyne, the 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne, over the landmark Tyne Bridge and onto the coastal finish in South Shields. You will be cheered on by a sea of spectators and bands will play along the route to give you that extra bit of encouragement and ambience.

We are very fortunate to have many dedicated supporters who take on running challenges for us each year.

The money raised is an important part of our fundraising income and we are so very grateful to each and every person that supports Queenscourt.

We are looking for volunteers to take on this challenge in aid of their local hospice. We have 15 places available.

This could be the inspiration you need to start 2017 as you mean to go on.

It would be a great motivation to get fit with a definite goal in September to spur you on.

The 2017 event will take place on September 10.

For more information, or if you are interested in taking part in this amazing experience, please get in touch with the fundraising team on 01704 517420 or email fundraising@ queenscourt.org.uk
