Teeing off for another good cause
PROCEEDS from The Rotary Club of Southport Link’s 27th Bus-Am golf tournament will be donated to Rainbow House, Mawdesley.
This highly successful golfing charity event is now in its 27th year, having donated over £65,000 to various charities in its 26-year history.
Last year’s recipients were the Alder Hey Children’s Charity, who received a £5,000 donation.
It is hoped the event will again raise a five-figure sum to be used to support the work of Rainbow House – the conductive education centre which specialises in rehabilitation education and fun for children, young people and adults with neurological conditions, such as cerebral palsy, brain injury, stroke, MS and genetic conditions.
The chief executive of Rainbow Housem Carole Cochrane, said: “Rainbow House is delighted we have been chosen to be the beneficiary of this year’s Bus-Am Golf Tournament.
“The support will make a real positive difference to our work and to the lives of our beneficiaries.”
The main sponsor for the event will again be the Southport-based company, Premier Wealth Management.
But the club is looking for sponsors for prizes and tees, as well as hearing from anybody who is able to get the amount raised matched by any company which provides match-funding for charitable causes.
The date for this year’s event is Friday, April 21 at Hesketh Golf Club.
Entries for the 27th event are now being taken and entry costs £380 per team.
