Zip along for fundraising challenges

-

WALK, run, cycle, sail, skydive... what challenge would you be up for? Is 2017 the year you plan to get fitter, spend more time with friends, have more fun and help a worthy cause?

We are very fortunate to have so many wonderful supporters that take on challenge events in aid of Queenscourt each year.

Our supporters take to the saddle, the seas, the air and their feet after being inspired by the work carried out at the hospice.

One challenge that our braver supporters may fancy tackling is the Velocity Zip Wire at Zip World in Bethesda, North Wales.

The Velocity is the fastest zip wire in the world and the longest in Europe.

People who have experienced it say it’s the nearest thing to flying, so this event is for all you adrenaline junkies.

We have arranged places with a charity discount for this on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at a cost of £53 per person.

Participants will need to try and raise as much sponsorship as possible and also arrange their own transport to Zip World.

All money raised from challenge events ensures Queenscourt is able to provide its vital services to the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

We are so thankful to each and every person that has given up their time to support their local hospice.

This gives you an idea of the difference that our supporters helped us make last year:

We cared for more than 750 patients.

We supported 284 patients with day therapy services.

We gave care on our wards to 227 patients.

We provided care for 398 patients in their homes.

Our lottery and raffle supporters helped to raise more than £325,000.

More than 700 local people volunteered to help us give care.

We have limited places available in events such as the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and the Great North Run.

There are also local events where challenges are offered, including fun runs, skydives or sportive events, offering you the chance to raise funds for a charity of your choice.

Lists of local events, and some further afield, as inspiration, can be found at www.queenscourt.org.uk/ challenge

You may have some novel ideas of your own, we would love to hear about them.

The fundraising team can offer sponsorship forms, T-shirts, running vests and advice.

Please call 01704 517420 or email fundraising@queenscourt.org.uk if you would like to book a place for the Velocity Zip Wire or discuss a challenge in support of Queenscourt.
