Ormskirk girls hold nerve in final over
ORMSKIRK School Under 13 girls were crowned Lancashire champions this week.
Playing in the Chance to Shine Indoor Cricket Competition held at Bolton Arena, organised by Lancashire Cricket Board, eight teams competed for the title and chance to represent the North of England at the Chance to Shine regional final.
Ormskirk had some close games but qualified for the final top of their group, facing Haslingden High School.
In the last over of the game Ormskirk needed eight runs to win and managed it with two balls to spare.
Laura Goff, PE teacher, said: “The girls were fantastic and played some great cricket, keeping their nerve in some very close games.”
115 schools across Lancashire started the competitions and Ormskirk are deservedly proud of their achievement.
