Age UK charity launches Charter for Later Life
LOCAL older people’s charity Age UK Lancashire is hosting a special event this Friday, April 21 at its Wellbeing Centre on Moorgate in Ormskirk to officially launch its new Charter for Later Life.
The charter has been developed by working closely with older people’s groups and forums over the last 12 months to find out exactly what the real issues are for older people and how Age UK Lancashire can influence positive changes and support on a wider scale.
Anne Oliver, the community engagement manager for the charity, played a major role in bringing the information together. She said: “The Charter for Later Life has been developed collaboratively between Age UK Lancashire and a broad range of individuals and partners.
“It is designed to show our commitment to those in later life living and working in Lancashire and North Sefton.”
The event is open to anyone and starts at 10.30am, with the charter being launched after 11am.
There will be an opportunity to find out more about the charter and the support available from local organisations.
People wishing to attend can simply call in to the Wellbeing Centre from 10.30am onwards but should be there before 11am in time for the official launch.
