Vote for a cinema for kids

-

ORMSKIRK and District General Hospital is calling on local people to vote for its children’s ward to receive a cinema installation, complete with all the latest technology.

The “Cine-makeover” campaign is being run by Finite Solutions, a national company specialising in smart home technologies and home cinema design and installation.

As part of the campaign patients, relatives, hospital staff and members of the public were invited to nominate their local children’s hospital or ward to receive a full cinema room installation.

People can now sup- port Ormskirk & District General Hospital by casting their vote at www.finite solutions.co.uk/cine- makeover/

The winning hospital will receive a cinema room worth more than £15,000, with a full suite of top-ofthe-range equipment including a HD projector and 100” screen, surround sound, Blu-Ray player and games console, as well as a series of children’s films.

Nominees were asked to submit a short description of what the new facility could be used for first, such as hosting a Disney film marathon, a console gaming tournament or a pyjama party, along with a supporting image of the proposed room for the installation (if available).

It is now time for the public to cast their vote to decide which hospital or ward will receive the cinema makeover.

This vote will also be coupled with the opinions of an expert panel of judges: Mark Craven, editor of Home Cinema Choice magazine; Margaret Jeal, acting chair of the Action for Sick Children charity; and Rich Williams, Yorkshire Drivetime presenter for Heart Radio.

Simon Mathieson, Finite Solutions’ consultancy director. said: “We’ve been blown away by the fantastic response we’ve had to the ‘Cine-makeover’ campaign.

“There’s definitely a need to create this kind of facility and we’re delighted to be able to offer this fun, exciting and mood-changing package to one, very deserving hospital.

“Thank you to everyone who entered – it’s now up to the public to get behind their local hospital or ward for their chance to win – good luck to everyone!”
